What a day! It’s not often you can say you’ve spent the day in the Mediterranean in Cornwall except for when it’s a wedding at The Eden Project. I love this venue as no matter the weather it’s always a gorgeous day under the biome.

Tell us what made your day unique
The Eden Project is so unique - there's nowhere else in the world like it; it's such an incredible venue and getting married in the Mediterranean biome was just surreal. We had the biome to ourselves, and our guests were guided between areas as the wedding progressed, which meant that different parts of the day had a different vibe, which we loved. It's a venue which suited our style and approach to the wedding perfectly, and our guests loved exploring it on the night as well as the next day (they all got tickets to go back and visit).

How did you choose your suppliers?
As we aren't local to the Eden Project, we chose all of our suppliers either from their recommended supplier list, or through recommendation by friends. It's tricky choosing suppliers when you don't live close to the venue but we couldn't have been happier with our choices! We travelled down to Cornwall a couple of months before the wedding to meet everyone and we’re really glad we did as it helped us get to know our suppliers, and made everything run smoother on the day.

What was the vibe of your day?
We wanted a laid-back, modern party and really just wanted everyone to have fun.

Do you have a favourite moment of your day?
Our favourite moment was when we got a chance to slip away together in the evening and were able to wander around the biome and just take it all in.

Do you have any advice for people planning their wedding?
Make the day about what you want; it's easy to get caught up making sure that everyone is happy and listening to a million opinions about what you should and shouldn't do, but honestly, if you're happy on the day, then everyone else will be too.

Anything else major that you just have to tell us? An epic DIY project? A particular supplier who stole the show? How you found your dress?*
As almost all of our family and friends were travelling from the South East, most people made a long weekend or a week's holiday out of it. Apart from the day itself, we just had the best couple of days tying up loose ends and relaxing at The Cornwall Hotel and Spa where we were staying. A lot of our family and friends were staying there, so it was a lovely way to spend time with them prior to the wedding and the spa and stunning grounds gave us a chance to chill out with some couple's time as well.

How epic was your photographer? ;-)
Nick is exactly the sort of person that you want there on your wedding day; friendly, calm and professional. He put us at ease right from the start (which is easier said than done when neither of us likes having our photo taken!) and his photos speak for themselves. He managed to get some incredible shots, and looking through them takes us right back to those special moments on the day.
