ROCHELLE + NICK

Hey Guys, get ready for some serious blogging over the coming weeks! I’m slowly but surely coming out of my lockdown hangover and getting my focus (see what I did there) back and on plan for weddings, weddings, weddings in Cornwall and hopefully further afield!

I’m going to be trying something a little different with the blog, less of my gabbling on (is that even a word!), I’ve asked my wonderful couples to give me their point of view to hopefully give a bit more back to you guys.

So without further ado here goes, read the blurb and browse the images, I hope you enjoy!

Tell me what made your day unique: We were lucky in that our wedding was the first in our group of friends. It really felt like the beginning of a string of big parties, so the excitement was real! Everyone was there to have a good time and our friends and family still talk about how it was the best day ever. We were really lucky to be surrounded by so many amazing people and so much love!

How did you choose your suppliers?: Mostly from recommendations. We chose our photographer after loving the photos from a friend's wedding and I'd seen before and after photos from my hair and makeup artist on Instagram after she did a friend of a friend's wedding. Rochelle's mum came across Kimmi's Cakes at a wedding fair and she was so accommodating and willing to give our ideas a try, she ended up creating an entire cake table for us. We still buy cakes from Kimmi for special occasions!

What was the vibe of your day?: It was full of love and laughter. The weather was perfect, around 25 degrees and sunny all day, so we were really lucky in that respect. It meant that everyone could be outside all day, enjoying the sunshine and the free-flowing drinks. We spent weeks compiling the perfect playlist for a sunny day and we're glad we did, the music really suited the atmosphere and kept everyone dancing.

Do you have a favourite moment of your day?: Yes! We were just heading inside to join our guests for dinner after having photos in the fields surrounding Stone Barn. We walked into the area where the ceremony had been and where the party would be later, we stood under the beautiful greenery and flower hoop that Honey Suckle had installed for us for a few more photos. Then our favourite song came on and we just started dancing! It was the happiest moment ever and was all caught on camera!

Do you have any advice for people planning their wedding?: Have a good spreadsheet! We planned absolutely everything from a single spreadsheet - our guest list, budget, to-do list, and supplier list were all in there. It was so helpful and definitely kept us on track all the way through so that stressful moments were minimal. The second piece of advice would be to accept help from other people - your friends and family genuinely want to be involved so let them! Our families helped us with loads of things from researching suppliers to little odd DIY jobs. We couldn't have done it without them!

And your photographer? ;-) Nick was amazing! He made us and our guests feel completely at ease all day. He's a total pro. We've had so many compliments on our photos, they're the ideal mix of casual, candid photos capturing our day perfectly, to more posed photos that still feel totally natural. Looking at our photos is a great way to relive the whole day - we did this with family and friends and a few bottles of prosecco as soon as we got them back!
