Tell us what made your day unique, sum it up:
Our day was exceptional as the ceremony took place in the village church where I grew up, and the vicar is also marrying my mum and her fiancé this weekend and is good friends with my granny. The venue was my granny's field which was always a bit of a dream of mine. The marquee was beautiful and having had all our flowers done by friends in the days prior, it felt even more special looking at our hard work having paid off! It was a busy DIY wedding, so the two days before were full on and quite stressful, it was all worth it and actually pretty fun getting everything set up!
How did you choose your suppliers?:
Some were referrals e.g. photographer, caterer, some are friends e.g. flowers, hair, videographer, cake. Makeup and band we found online by doing a lot of research.
Do you have any advice for people planning their wedding?:
you are more likely to regret not inviting someone than inviting them, so if on the fence, invite them! Try not to listen to other opinions, as there are a lot of them! Remember, it is your day. Allow more time for dinner/the wedding breakfast than you think you need. Delegate jobs on the day (to groomsmen/bridesmaids) so you can sit back and relax and enjoy your day. Don't be guilt-tripped into asking someone to be your groomsman/bridesmaid, remember, it's your day! The day goes so fast so soak it all in, and take a moment with your partner to have time just you two - we did straight after the church and it was lovely to have that time before going back to the madness of the day!
Anything else major that you just have to tell us?:
An epic DIY project? A particular supplier who stole the show? How you found your dress?: I found my dress in the third place I went to, last minute booking one weekend while visiting my parents and I was blown away by their collection, tried on about 8 dresses and found 'the one' there! Faye (owner of the store) encouraged me to try on styles I wouldn't have gone for, just for fun, so we were there for hours! We were so happy with all of our suppliers and feel very lucky to have such brilliant photos and a video to look back over.
